Finished the Salt Lake City 1/2 Marathon

Had a great trip to Salt Lake City this past weekend and ran in their 1/2 marathon on Saturday the 19th. The weather was beautiful for the run - clear skies, cool but not cold temps, and a bit of sun. The run was mostly downhill and felt pretty good in terms of heart rate and leg fatigue. My time was definitely off though as I finished in 2:05:57. I knew training was off and I was trying to get in under 2:05 but just didn't quite make it. Next run up is Bellevue in late June although I may try to find another 1/2 in late May or early June. Only a couple months left until the Medoc Marathon in September.

OK, now it looks totally official

I did a search today on the Medoc Marathon web site and can see that I am confirmed for the run and have a bib number assigned. I even made it in under 1000.

Running has been good this week. Took a couple days rest and had a nice fast 5k short run today. I'm back down to 8:30 pace and feeling pretty good. Have a long run planned for tomorrow and just planning on taking it easy. The Salt Lake City run is two weeks from today so I don't plan to push too hard until after that race.
